Health and safety training company Kays Medical has acquired the equipment supplier DM Wood Medical.

Upon completion of the deal DM Wood will become part of the Kays Medical Group, and the previous owner David Wood will remain with the company as operations director based in the Aberdeen office.

Aberdeen-based DM Wood supplies medical equipment and pharmaceuticals mainly to companies in the North Sea oil and gas industry, as well as occupational health departments and GP practices.

Kays Medical provides first aid medical supplies and training to public and private sector organisations in the UK and abroad, such as schools and prisons. Founded in 1976, the Liverpool-based company employs 40 staff, and this year declared a turnover of around £4 million, which it aims to double within the next two years following the acquisition.
