Autonomous Flight lifts off with £25m Series A

Autonomous Flight, the electric gyrocopter start-up, has closed another £5m as part of a £25m Series A found. The company is building the Y6S Plus, a battery-powered flying aircraft for urban areas.

PortalOne loads £11m for gaming/TV show app

PortalOne, which describes itself as the world’s first hybrid games platform, has raised $15m (£10.8m) in an oversubscribed seed funding round. European investors include Seedcamp, Talis Capital and SNÖ Ventures alongside US backers including Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. The PortalOne platform mixes games with live shows that are embedded directly inside the games.

eSalesHub closes £1.7m Series A round

eSalesHub, the Yorkshire-based AI-driven marketing analytics firm, has raised £1.65m Series A from Maven Capital Partners. The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF). Managed by Maven, invested £1.35m, while Maven VCTs invested £300,000. The company will use the funds to develop its proprietary AI technology and also create 25 new jobs.

iKVA raises £1.5m in seed funding for AI-driven solution

iKVA, a spinout from Cambridge University, has raised £1.5m in seed funding from Cambridge Investment, Crowdcube and institutional investors. The investment comes on top of £175,000 of pre-seed funding secured in 2017. iKVA’s AI technology is designed to help knowledge-based multinational firms deal with workflow and was developed by the BBC and the Home Office working with academics from the university’s Department of Computer Science and Technology and the Alan Turing Institute.
