The company aiming to shake up the free lotteries sector

Freelotteries.co.uk was founded in 2014 by Henry Buckley, a serial entrepreneur responsible for the successful leaflet distribution company Jogpost, and aims to grow into the pre-eminent free lotteries resource online.

Buckley dominated the leading salesman lists of all companies for which he worked before he decided to start Jogpost and go it alone. In 2011, he appeared on Dragons’ Den and had the investors fighting over him; Buckley and his business partner JJ Harding eventually accepted an offer of £50,000 from Deborah Meaden but the pair decided shortly afterwards not to take the money after all.

After the publicity from the show, the company grew to revenues of more than £3 million. ‘The day after the show broadcast, the phones just wouldn’t stop ringing,’ Buckley recalls. ‘The business exploded overnight.’

Ever the serial entrepreneur, with additional projects simmering away in the background, Buckley has started a new business that pledges to give away money for nothing. Freelotteries.co.uk is a website that offers a daily cash prize to the site’s users, supported by advertising revenue.

In return for such activities as registering, playing the lotteries, and referring friends through social media, users will benefit from a points system that can be cashed in for a variety of prizes over time.

The site will also feature handy tips on how to save cash, with essential money saving advice on everything from motoring, to utility bills, to holidays.

Additionally, the company will give money to charity in the event prizes are unclaimed. Buckley says, ‘With Brexit on the horizon we’re living through uncertain economic times, and since the recession everyone still seems to be feeling the pinch. So I thought, why not start a free lotteries company that will be giving away totally risk-free money every day? We truly are offering something for nothing – there’s no catch.’
