Investment forum Tech Invest Manchester, an event that allows companies in the tech space to present to investors, is set to take place on 16 September.

The forum is open to tech businesses looking for growth finance; having already successfully raised £250,000 to £5million in the past two years.

Each company has 15 minutes to present and discuss their growth plans to these firms; as well as many other big names from the venture capital, investment banking, private equity, business angel, peer to peer lending and private investor network community.

The forum is part of a wider strategy to cover the Northern Powerhouse and its technology scene across the Growth Business site and beyond.

As well as the company pitches there is a panel of investors present to give their views on the investment scene and take questions from entrepreneurs and fellow investors. So far the confirmed panellists are:

  • Jon Coker – partner at MMC Ventures
  • Darren Gowling – investment director at Co Angel Investment Service
  • Matthew Mead – chief investment officer at Mercia Technologies
  • Luke Hakes – venture partner at Octopus Investments

The forum follows June’s Tech Invest London event, which saw 17 companies pitch to investors from Albion Ventures, Octopus Investments, Oxford Capital and many more.

Since the inaugural 2013 Tech Invest forum, presenting companies have gone to float on AIM and one was bought out by Blackberry – with more than 10 raising new funding.

The forum is hosted by Growth Business and its sister publication Information Age.
