Cambridge-based Scientific Digital Imaging (SDI), which made two acquisitions in October, raised no new money in the 12p float.

Non-executive chairman Harry Tee says there is an opportunity to grow the business through further acquisitions in ‘a fragmented market’.

He adds, ‘SDI is performing well in a difficult trading environment and we are confident our acquisition strategy will prove beneficial in the medium to long term.’

SDI focuses on areas including DNA and protein analysis and intends to acquire other digital imaging companies in the life sciences sector. It became profitable last year, and this year returned pre-tax profits of £113,000 before one-off reorganisation costs.

Grant Thornton is acting as the company’s nominated adviser and Dowgate Capital as its broker.
