Article Date: Nov 18 2008Entrepreneurs, investors and advisers alike have until 21 November to register their nominations for the forthcoming Quoted Company Awards 2009, the ceremony rewarding excellence in the AIM and small-cap arena run by Growth Company Investor.
To be held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, the awards dinner, now in its fifth year, looks to recognise the achievements of quoted businesses listed below the FTSE 350 – including smaller companies on the Official List, AIM-traded counters and PLUS companies – alongside the contributions of the entrepreneurs who run them.
The array of award categories includes Chief Executive of the Year, Deal of the Year and Non-executive Director of the Year. Last time round, David Jackson of the fast-growing Redhall Group walked off with the Entrepreneur of the Year gong and Marlborough Special Situations’ Giles Hargreave collected the investor of the year award, while serial non-executive director Tim Ross was lauded for his work in the small-cap realm.
For the forthcoming event, a prestigious panel of judges has been assembled including award-winning fund manager Andy Crossley of Invesco Perpetual, Simon Hayes, CEO of broker and adviser KBC Peel Hunt, Grant Thornton’s Philip Secrett, Judith McKenzie of Electra Quoted Management and renowned analyst Peter Ashworth of Charles Stanley.
