Domino buys Labeljet

Article Date:  Apr 17 2009

Cambridge-based Domino Printing Sciences Plc has acquired Portugal-based rival Labeljet SA and its subsidiary Marque TDI for up to €7 million (£6.2 million).

Marque TDI is based in Porto and has been Domino’s printing distributor in the Portuguese market since 2002. Labeljet reported sales revenues of €7.8 million (£6.9 million) in 2008, with underlying profits of €1.6 million (£1.4 million).

Nigel Bond, Domino MD, commented: “Marque has built an enviable record for customer service and occupies a leading position in the Portuguese market. The acquisition will enhance profitability and provides a platform to sell a wider range of products.”

In the 12 months to 31 October 2008, Domino reported an increase in revenue of nine per cent to £253.4 million, with pre-tax profits down by 21 per cent to £25.2 million.
