Teens grow wary of social networking

Sales people still cashing in

The basic pay and bonuses of sales people are still rising, keeping them significantly better off than their colleagues in marketing, finance and HR. The average basic salary for a middle manager in sales is just over £37,000, some 8.5 per cent higher than the national average for that level, according to a study from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.  Read More

New CEO, chairman for Securstore

An online back-up and recovery business with data centres in the UK and Iceland has gained a new CEO and non-executive chairman. Securstore has appointed Orn Gunnarsson and Bjarni Armannson respectively to the roles, each of whom will take a stake of 25 per cent in the business.  Read More

Directors move north

More company directors are choosing to live outside London and the South East, according to research from data analysis company KDB. The study reports a ‘gradual migration of company directors to more northerly regions, as well as Scotland and Wales’.  Read More

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have recognised 139 businesses, ranging in size from three-person businesses to a company with more than 100,000 staff.
