PR agency in private equity buy-out

Article Date:  Oct 20 2008

The Television Consultancy, a broadcast and digital PR agency, has been sold to private equity firm ISIS Equity Partners for £10 million.

The company retains its existing management team and plans to use the funding to support growth in its core television and radio markets, as well as expanding its online and digital offering.

Elaine Stern, The Television Consultancy’s CEO who co-founded the company in 1998, comments, ‘[This deal] allows us to maintain our independence, whilst giving us more resources to invest in talent and services.’

Richard Fetterman, a partner at advisory firm Livingstone which brokered the deal, says, ‘Despite all the negative talk regarding the economic outlook and the impact on the marketing services sector, the level of interest we received for [The Television Consultancy] illustrates that there remains strong demand for high-quality businesses in strategic niches.’
