GMT-backed Docugroup in acquisition

Docugroup, a private equity-owned company that provides information for the construction industry, has acquired German subsidies specialist Fe.bis.

Private equity group GMT Communications Partners supported central Europe-based Docugroup in the deal, of which financial details remain undisclosed.

Docugroup CEO Peter Schmitz says the acquisition of Fe.bis, which provides information to German and Austrian homeowners seeking subsidies to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, will revitalise existing Docugroup products and help the Fe.bis business expand into new countries.

Adds Schmitz, ‘For our clients, namely building product manufacturers, [Fe.bis] will provide an additional route to link them with potential buyers of their products and services.’

Founded in 2001, Docugroup was bought by GMT in 2004 and has operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia.
