Finnish software company in US expansion

Article Date:  Feb 10 2009

Comformiq, a Finnish software testing company, has received €3 million (£2.6 million) in venture capital and opened new headquarters in California.

The funding round included both European and US investors and was led by Nordic venture capital firm Nexit Ventures.

As part of the deal, former Xerox executive AK Kalekos has been appointed president and CEO of Comformiq, while the company’s former managing director Antii Huima becomes chief technology officer.

The company specialises in automating the design of tests for software and systems. Says Kalekos, ‘The back-end of the test process, the execution of tests, has already been automated in many companies, but the test scripts needed for automated test execution are still designed by hand.’

In related news, Nexit recently raised an additional €10 million for its second fund, Nexit Infocom II, which now has assets of €85 million. The firm is working towards a final closing of the fund later this year.
