Ingenious and Eagle Rock to release John Lennon DVD

Article Date:  Nov 28 2007

Venture capitalist Ingenious has formed a joint venture with TV and DVD producer Eagle Rock Entertainment to release a DVD based on John Lennon’s solo album Plastic Ono Band. Ingenious will provide funding for the new company, named Ground Level Recording, from its second Music VCT.

The DVD will feature archive footage related to the album, Lennon’s first after leaving The Beatles, and interviews with contributors Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr and Klaus Voormann. It will be part of Eagle Rock’s ‘Classic Albums’ series of documentaries on well-known pop and rock records, which the company releases in conjunction with film producer Isis Productions. There are over 30 programmes in the series so far.

Duncan Reid, Ingenious’ commercial director, comments: ‘[Eagle Rock is] well established in the DVD market and have generated significant revenues from their “Classic Albums” series.’

Ingenious was founded in 1998 by Patrick McKenna, and specialises in investing in the media and entertainment sectors. Apart from the Ingenious Music VCTs, it manages two other twin-structured VCTs in these sectors: the Ingenious Live VCTs and the Ingenious Entertainment VCTs.
