MTI’s £15m pharma funding

Article Date:  Apr 06 2006

Early-stage venture capital specialist MTI Partners has led a £15.5 million funding round in Bristol-based pharmaceutical developer, Hunter-Fleming. Joining MTI in the round were fellow UK investor Finance South West Growth, as well as backers from the US, Switzerland and Japan.

Hunter-Fleming will use the funding to continue the clinical development of three compounds, targeted at a range of conditions including Alzheimer’s disease and spinal cord injury. Furthermore the company will now be able to set up a joint venture to fast-track the development of a novel concept for treating asthma and allergic conditions.

Dr David Holbrook of MTI declares: ‘to have MTI’s investment decision endorsed by such eminent co-investors gives us great satisfaction.’
