Green fund makes first investment

Bristol-based Oakside Logistics, a provider of waste management solutions to the automotive industry, has become the first company to receive support from The Recycling Fund – the UK's first venture fund focused exclusively on environmentally friendly businesses.

Established by WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) and managed by Impax Asset Management, the Recycling Fund provided an initial £100,000 of development capital to the business and has committed to invest a further £250,000 in the near-term future. A further £150,000 was provided by the South West Regional Development Agency.

The deal grants The Recycling Fund a 23 per cent stake in Oakside's business.
