Nexit Ventures backs Aava Mobile

Article Date:  Jun 03 2009

Aava Mobile, a Nordic mobile phone software developer, has received €3 million (£2.6 million) from Nexit Ventures.

The money will be used to further development of Aava’s smartphone platform, which the company claims provides greater flexibility to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and mobile operators.

Markus Appel, Aava Mobile CEO comments, ‘Our open platform concept has been well received by the global mobile operators, who see this as a new revenue opportunity from new and existing subscribers. The open platform lets operators and OEMs customise their devices easily and differentiate them from their competitors.’

Pekka Salonoja, general partner at Nexit Ventures, says the company is profiting from fast and steady growth in the market for smartphones.

Nexit Ventures invests in mobile and wireless high-growth companies, primarily in the Nordic countries and the US.
