Headhunter nets expansion funds

Article Date:  Mar 11 2009

Welsh recruitment firm Agg Jones Search and Selection has received ₤475,000 from the Welsh Assembly Government and HSBC to extend its geographical coverage.

The company, which has offices in Newport, London and Manchester and recruits executives for the financial and professional services industries, received the cash from Finance Wales, a subsidiary of the Welsh Assembly Government, with debt from HSBC and a grant direct from the Assembly. This is the second investment in Agg Jones from Finance Wales, which has an equity stake in the business.

David Jones, who co-founded the firm in 2006 with partner Jennifer Agg, says, ‘This round of funding will allow us to further develop our offering across the UK by continuing to invest in highly experienced consultants operating in their respective niche markets.’

Steve Elias, a portfolio executive at Finance Wales, comments that Agg Jones has ‘a robust business plan for growth throughout the UK’.

Prior to co-founding Agg Jones, David Jones was part of the management team that led the buy-out of two accountancy and finance recruitment consultancies, Sheridan Maine Finance and SML Accountancy, from parent company Options Employment Group.
