Innocent success

Article Date:  Jul 04 2006

Smoothie producer Innocent Drinks was the big winner at last night’s inaugural Business XL 10 Awards, after being crowned ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Brand of the Year’ at the ceremony, held in the heart of the City of London.

Innocent, founded by university friends Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Jon Wright, is now the largest business of its kind in the UK and was singled out by the judges for having increased its market share by 15 per cent last year, doubling revenues to £37 million along the way.

Other winners at the awards ceremony, hosted by GrowthBusiness.co.uk’s sister publication Business XL, included Friends Reunited in the ‘New Frontier’ category (thanks to the success of its new innovative Genes Reunited website) and Radio Taxi’s in the Ecology category. Regeneration specialist Urban Splash picked up the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award.’
