Done deals:

  • Skipton Building Society has purchased a 75 per cent stake in Thomson Shepherd, an independent financial adviser

  • Pandora Books, a supplier of book collections to schools, has been acquired in a buy-in management buy-out by managing director Martin Green and private equity firm Key Capital Partners. The deal was backed by Yorkshire Bank

  • SSP, an insurance and financial IT services company, has bought the Asia-Pacific INSURE/90 insurer systems business from CSC Computer Sciences

Deals in the pipeline:

  • Whitbread plc, through its subsidiary Premier Inn Hotels, is to buy the Quality Hotel Westminster, Comfort Inn Kensington and the Purple Hotel, City of London from the Reed Hotel Company for £18.6 million
