WPP expands into digital

WPP, one of the world’s largest communication services groups, has bought a majority stake in Adventures s.r.o, an online marketing agency based in Prague.

The Czech tie-up will enable the group to develop its networks in growth markets and sectors, and strengthen its capabilities in digital media. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

To December 2007, Adventures turned over €1.5 million (£1.1 million), reporting gross assets of €1 million (£800,000). It provides online services to high profile clients, such as the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nokia and SUN Microsystems.

WPP has more than 110,000 employees in offices in 106 countries. In December 2007, the group reported revenues of £6.6 billion and a market cap of £7.7 billion.
