I have recently formed a publishing company in Birmingham called Above The Bar Publications Ltd. Our main product is a new trade magazine targeted at the drinks industry. I am desperately in need of financial support to ensure that I can produce and distribute our first national publication. I have employed 8 full time staff, have a fully operational office, a pilot edition and the promise of over 25K worth of advertising revenue. An investor who had originally planned to support us through this difficult, initial period has pulled out at the last minute.

What are my options?

i have been in business for over 10 years, i would like to think it has been sucessful in most parts but unfortunately it has its down falls when it comes to paying and keeping up payment with thw Inland Revenue, they dont seem to want to help you in any way, they are only interested in the collection of their money, why are they are not understanding about employers and small business and the hurdles we have to jump to keep up with payments, if a company loses money because their client goes into liquidation and failing to pay, surely this should be taken into consideration and the effects it would have on one's business. I have experienced Liquidation in the past due to this and i was persecuted, i was looked at as though i had robbed the business of its funds, i was also made to look small in front of others, it was horrible, i wanted to crawl under the table. I may have to experience this again due to customers not paying on time, every ones blaming the credit crunch which is fine but dosent help when Mr Inland Revenue man comes knocking. I am worried sick about losing everything me and my partner has worked for, the only thing for me to do now is look at a buyer to take on my business and keep on our staff, at least they will have jobs, im not to worried about us we will cope and will be able to pay all debt and not worry about the knock at the door.
