Relief over R&D tax scheme

Changes to research and development (R&D) tax credits will benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the tune of £180 million, according to business advisory firm Deloitte. State funds friends, not foes

The rise of sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) does not present a serious threat to Western economies, according to research from two US- and UK-based academics. Credit crunch boosts asset-based lending

The popularity of asset-based lending (ABL) has soared, according to a survey of accountants from business lender Venture Finance. Some 52 per cent of respondents claim that ABL is now attractive to their clients, compared with just two per cent who made the same statement last year.   Read More
