Deal Round-up (14.04.08)

In today’s deal headlines insurance company Oval has bought Bartholomew and James, as pub group Mitchells & Butler looks to acquire Punch Taverns.

Done deals:

Industrial safety products supplier Latchways plc has acquired a Slovenia-based guardrail systems supplier, Sigma 6, for €1.6 million (£1.3 million)

Quayle Munro Holdings plc has bought rival corporate financial adviser van Tulleken for £6.1 million

SMR Marine has purchased Transmarine Chandlery to create an enlarged boating and related products supplier (Source: hotfroguk.co.uk)

Amsterdam-based staffing services company Vedior said it has purchased a 70 percent shareholding in Pareto Law plc, a graduate assessment, placement and training organisation (Source: www.iii.co.uk/news)

Oval has expanded into Ireland with the acquisition of rival commercial insurance broker Bartholomew and James (Source: postonline.co.uk)

Deals in the pipeline:

Pub group Mitchells & Butler, owner of the All Bar One chain, is in talks with ex-suitor Punch Taverns about taking over the latter's managed pub division (Source: bbc.co.uk)
