£1 million boost for Moveme.com

Article Date:  Apr 23 2007

Moveme.com, a website dedicated to moving house, has attracted £1 million from investors including Brent Hoberman, The Accelerator Group and Advent Venture Partners.

Hoberman is the founder of Lastminute.com, while venture capital firm Advent and investment company The Accelerator Group both focus on technology businesses.

Marketing manager Charles Wadsell tells GrowthBusiness.co.uk that the funding will be spent on staffing, website development and marketing.

London-based Moveme.com was co-founded in 2006 by entrepreneurs Mark Cunningham and Keith McNeilly, who also funded the company for the first year of operation.

The website provides services to help people manage their house move, from a personalised online planner to discounts for companies such as removal firms and copies of necessary forms and letters.
