Broker buys RS Hayworth

Commercial broker LFC Insurance Group has acquired RS Hayworth & Co for an undisclosed sum.

The acquired company currently trades as Shield Policies, selling SME-targeted commercial policies from offices near Colchester. Post-acquisition the firm will trade as LFC Shields.

Taylor Viney & Marlow acted as financial adviser to the acquirer. The team was led by David Stevens, partner, who has extensive experience in advising on deals within the insurance broking sector.

“We’ve advised LFC Insurance for over ten years and guided them through extensive changes. The team was able to provide an efficient link between parties and their advisers to ensure a suitable share purchase agreement was achieved from a financial, commercial and tax efficient perspective,” said Stevens.

Birkett Long provided legal advice to the vendor.
