Deal Round-up (13.05.2008) In today’s deal headlines professional services provider Begbies Traynor Group plc has bought two independent practices and Isle of Man-based law firms Quinn Kneale and Hyde & Hanson look set to merge.

Beta Engineering Services has undergone a management buy-in, backed by UK Steel Enterprise (Source: The Star)
Smiths Group plc, a diversified technology company, has acquired Allrizon Tongguang, a Shanghai-based communications equipment firm
Marketing communications group Aegis plc has purchased rmsar.car, a search engine marketing company in Germany.
Health care property investor Primary Health Properties plc has agreed to acquire a new medical centre in Coalville, Leicestershire, for some £2.6 million

Aerospace and defence equipment manufacturer Cobham plc has agreed to purchase the radio frequency components and subsystems business of M/A-COM, a microwave subsystems manufacturer, for $425 million (£218.2 million) cash
