Barclays Private Equity acquired Infrastructure Investors through its recently established long-term infrastructure fund, Barclays Integrated Infrastructure Fund. The deal is valued at £558.6 million and the acquisition was funded by a £364 million debt facility provided by a consortium of banks comprising Calyon, Lloyds TSB, Nationwide and RBS. Infrastructure Investors, which invests in operational PFI/PPP projects, was established by Barclays and Societe Generale in 2003, with 3i joining in 2005. Barclays is now the sole owner.
