If we’d ever seen Captain Kirk engaged in the more mundane activities like brushing his teeth, then his bathroom would have probably featured something resembling the Toto Neorest. For this is surely a loo fit for the captain of the Starship Enterprise.
With its wastepaper bin appearance and price tag of £2,249, you may initially feel that Toto is trying to develop its own brand of “toilet humour”. But this is no bog-standard receptacle.
If you’re the sort of individual who tentatively lifts a toilet seat with a tissue, you’ll be relieved to hear the Neorest has a sensor-operated lid that opens and closes automatically. Equally a thing of the past is having to put some muscle into the flush – just press the remote control instead. And never again will you have to suffer the sheer misery of a cold seat, due to the adjustable temperature facility.
Other features include an oscillating ‘comfort’ wash, warm air drying and adjustable deodorising spray, and most innovative of all: the self-cleaning facility.
Such a useful function is guaranteed to blast all those domestics about whose turn it is to scrub the loo light years into the past – although some may argue that for a lot of males, picking up the toilet brush in the first place really would be ‘to boldly go’ where no man has gone before.
